The Batman Director Addresses Why Robert Pattinson"s Dark Knight Wasn"t In The Penguin: "There"s Crime Everywhere"

In a new interview with Digital Spy, Matt Reeves was directly asked why Pattinson"s Gotham City hero didn"t make an appearance in The Penguin series at least once. Reeves gave a detailed response to what kept Batman from getting involved with the overall plot of The Penguin season 1, as he explained the following:
[indent] This was a time of great turmoil in the city, it"s literally the week after what happened. Much of the city is in desperation, so police can"t get everywhere, there"s crime everywhere, it"s a very, very dangerous time. [Batman’s] out there trying to grapple with the aftermath of everything that happened, which to some degree he blames himself for.
