Tom Welling"s Superman & Justice League Reunite With Costume Upgrades In Stunning Smallville Art

More than a decade after Smallville came to an end, many DC fans are still imagining what Tom Welling"s Superman and his Justice League could look like today. With a Smallville sequel potentially having a chance to come to fruition, this revival wouldn"t only open the doors for Welling"s Clark Kent to continue, but also for many of the Justice League characters who entered the series during its original run. While time will tell if a continuation is possible, fans are already picturing what Smallville"s Justice League might be like in the modern day.
Buffy2Ville released a gallery of art pieces with multiple Smallville cast members, including Welling as the Man of Steel, leading his iteration of the Justice League that came to fruition during season 6. Check out the full slideshow below, featuring the Justice League characters with upgraded versions of their super-suits:
The Smallville gallery includes Laura Vandervoort"s Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, Alan Ritchson"s Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Serinda Swan"s Zatanna, Justin Hartley"s Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, and Kyle Gallner"s Bart Allen/Impulse. The fan art also features Michael Rosenbaum"s Lex Luthor, now serving as the U.S. President, which was a major storyline that was foreshadowed throughout Smallville"s run and briefly embraced during the series finale"s flashforward.
What The Smallville Justice League Art Means For The Show Close Seeing fans still making fan art and concept trailers for Smallville and its Justice League shows that there is still a passion for this specific interpretation of those characters after all these years. Even though there were only a handful of Smallville episodes with the Justice League together, those were some of the best parts of the show"s history. Having the team back whenever possible in the later seasons always makes those episodes stand out, especially since there was almost a Smallville spinoff show for the Justice League.
If Smallville"s Welling continued as Superman in any shape or form as a sequel, it would be fascinating to see what he would be doing as the leader of the Justice League, which was a role that he grew into slowly throughout the later seasons. An older Clark would also mean he would be more experienced since viewers last saw him, which could easily justify him being far more comfortable in his role with the team. The same goes for other Justice League characters from the Smallville universe, as they would be at different points in their lives after the 2011 series finale.
Our Take On The Smallville Justice League Art Seeing how great Smallville"s Justice League would look with upgraded suits after their initial designs in the TV show, it would be fun if this version of the DC team got to be featured again, whether it be through live-action or animation. The Smallville season 11 comic demonstrated there are many potential routes to take with this Justice League, especially as they got to add several more members through the tie-in comic book. But for now, time will tell if the world gets to see Smallville return for another run, as the animated sequel is yet to be officially greenlit.
