Adam Warlock"s MCU Intro Could Set Up New Guardians of the Galaxy Team
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has the perfect opportunity to set up a brand-new version of the eponymous space-faring team through the introduction of Will Poulter's Adam Warlock. After being teased in a post-credit scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Adam Warlock is finally about to make his live-action debut in the upcoming sequel, set to hit theaters on May 5th this year. Although the film's early trailers have suggested that Adam Warlock will play an antagonistic role in his first appearance, his heroic turn is inevitable, signaling his future as a major leader in the ever-expanding world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The next iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy team is imminent following their upcoming film, especially given the real-world events surrounding the sequel's production. After being fired from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, director James Gunn eventually returned to finish the movie but was quite clear that it would be his last contribution in the franchise. Conceived as the final installment for this iteration of the Guardians team, the sequel will feature the final farewell for certain beloved characters, including Dave Bautista's Drax the Destroyer. However, Marvel has hinted at the emergence of a new lineup of Guardians in the near future, with fresh faces leading the team.
