As the finale to the Venom trilogy, The Last Dance was expected to amp up the stakes, and proved it would do so in dramatic fashion when the newest Venom: The Last Dance trailer revealed that Knull would be in the movie.
Given just how powerful the symbiote"s creator is - and his significance in Marvel Comics - this serves as a massive plot twist for the trilogy"s final chapter. It also naturally raises questions about how Venom and Eddie Brock can possibly hope to have any victories against Venom: The Last Dance"s Knull in the movie, given their comparative power set as we know it thus far. Interestingly, a combination of Marvel"s own comic past and the main theme of the Venom trilogy suggests one very viable way for said success to be managed, and raises a lovably cheesy way for the off-the-wall series to close the book on its story.
Venom's Most Likely Route To Defeating Knull Is Basically With The Power Of Friendship Venom Alone May Struggle Against Knull - But He's Not The Only Symbiote While Knull is the symbiotes" creator in both the Sony Spider-Man Universe and Marvel Comics, it"s worth noting this status doesn"t stop the creatures from turning on him in the original source material. In the comics, the collective symbiote hive-mind traps Knull after the symbiotes who bonded to other creatures introduce positive concepts like compassion and honor to the alien species, allowing them to choose a new path forwards for themselves.
Logistically, it would stand to reason this approach could be taken in the movies, too, especially since the Venom: The Last Dance trailer seemingly showed Knull on the planet Klyntar - the symbiote"s homeworld, and one that in the comics got its title from their name for the word "cage" in reference to the fact they"d trapped Knull in its core. While Klyntar is already named in the Venom series, it"s possible this event still hasn"t yet happened in the universe - or that, if it has, this history can be used to inspire Venom to trap Knull once more.

2 Venom has fought Knull more directly in the comics, but it"s hard to see how this would be as possible for the live-action movie Venom, who was only shortly before shown struggling against other symbiotes, let alone the god who happens to be their creator. Instead, it stands to reason that if Venom is to defeat Knull, it"s via connecting with the hive-mind and using this bond of minds to turn the others against Knull, using their numbers to outmaneuver the villain - though depending on how this itself works in this universe, the act may well require Venom to sacrifice himself.
Venom Using The Hive-Mind To Beat Knull Would Bring The Trilogy Together Perfectly Venom's Bond Between Symbiote And Human Can Be Used To Defeat A God Close More than its big fights or exploration of symbiote lore, the Venom trilogy is about the bond between the Venom symbiote and Eddie Brock, and the way in which this ends up helping two characters who consider themselves losers. This emotional connection being such a core element of the movies also means that the ending of the trilogy is somewhat obliged to provide a nod to its significance, with the trailer supporting the idea the film intends to do just that by the ways in which it addresses the odd but remarkable connection between the two.
As such, making all the times Eddie and Venom bonded over the course of the films - and all the lessons Eddie taught Venom about life, and perhaps most importantly, not murdering people indiscriminately - a core plot element would make all these moments serve as build-up for Knull"s defeat. Even if Venom: The Last Dance ends with the deaths of one or both members of the duo as teased, this would ensure the ending is still relatively positive in some aspects, as the significance of the pair"s relationship can free the symbiotes and save humanity.
Since the other Venom movies have also centered around symbiote vs symbiote conflicts, this approach would also provide a poignant way to close the proverbial book on these past fights by having the remaining symbiotes band together against their cruel creator. It"s hard to believe only Venom is capable of meaningful, lasting change and redemption - especially with the comic lore suggesting this is very much not the case with its band of heroic and antihero symbiotes - and as such, ending on this note would address this matter in the biggest way possible within the series" finale.
Knull Being Beaten By The Hive-Mind In Venom 3 Would Mean The Villain Could Return In Other Marvel Movies Keeping Knull Alive Could Pay Off Down The Line For Marvel's Movie Landscape Close Venom: The Last Dance having Knull be defeated by adapting the comic storyline wherein the hive-mind trapped him is also a useful approach as it doesn"t kill Knull off, allowing the door to be still left a little open - something that Marvel could capitalize on in later releases. It"s not clear whether the Sony Spider-Man Universe is set to continue following Kraven The Hunter, but if it is, keeping a major figure like this able to easily return in the franchise could certainly encourage interest in its continuation, whether there are more Venom appearances or not.
Even if the Sony Spider-Man Universe doesn"t follow up on Knull, the MCU timeline would certainly be able to feature the villain in the future, especially while the Multiverse Saga is still the franchise"s major storyline. Indeed, many theories have arisen focused around Spider-Man 4 continuing this story, which could well be a possibility given how the MCU and Sony Spider-Man Universe have crossed over before, and Earth-616 has a piece of the Venom symbiote still seemingly within it. Whatever the case, it"s clear Venom: The Last Dance is set to end the trilogy in dramatic fashion.
